Hmmm, I'm currently sourcing the components for my next edit box, going from a dual P3-1000 to a P4-2800, so that should be sweet.

Then I read today that the p5's expected sometime towards the end of the year. Oh well.

Unless it's changed of late the AMD 64-bit chip is expected this fall. This would be the closest operationally to the G5. Still, the OS has to be optimized for 64 bit to really take advantage of it. Some software features as well.

Photohsop has already announced they will be recompiling filters to 64 bit.
