Installing FCS2... finally
I just ordered final cut studio 2 and it should be coming in later today (12/3). I'm just wondering what special steps i should take when installing it. i want to avoid running into any problems or bugs. maybe uninstalling/reinstalling some things, clean wipe, anything.
I'm currently running tiger, QT7.2 (staying away from QT7.3 till those problems are resolved), and i also have a question about graphics cards. currently on a NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT and it says on the apple site that should be ok when running the apps. wondering if it would still benefit buying a better graphics card. also, regarding the updates, i have heard that FCP6.0.2 update require the QT7.3 update, and of course all of you know that that QT update is screwy. would i be able to update FCS2 with the 0.1 updates? not sure what else. i know there's more, but can't think right now. any feedback will help... =) thanks. -edward

Yes...do as you have read. I made the mistake by updating the software and quicktime. Had to do a fresh install.
Things have worked fine since my second install. Just be prepared to spend a few hours on installing the software. Good luck |
