Preview HDV tape without capture?
My production manager wants to look at some of the raw footage we've shot. Difficulty: I didn't bring the composite cables, and we don't have an HDTV anyway.
Is there any way to preview the tapes without first importing all of them? I can sorta get that by showing the previews in iMovie but there's no sound. Keep in mind, I've only got this firewire cable... |

I can't think of any program off the bat that does a live audio/video preview. I'm not even sure if it's possible with HDV.
Can you buy some cheap A/V composite (yellow, red, white) cables (if your camera doesn't have a proprietary connector) and plug it into any TV? |

Set your camera to down-convert to SD DV.
