Good news!
I know it's late and I should be in bed, but now I can rest in peace! Thanks to Bob's awesome article, I have resolved my issue and I can now proudly show my nature dvd at the Wild and Scenic Film Festival in January in my hometown. Sweeet!!! Using compressor to encode the native 1080p 23.98 footage to a 23.98 m2v sd dvd worked flawlessly. My movie looks great with no stuttering (repeat 5th frame is gone). The problem was occurring when I was making a self-contained QT movie and then importing into dvdsp for encode. For some reason, dvdsp does not add flags for adding pulldown when quicktime is the last step in the encoding process. It only adds flags when compressor is the last step in the encoding process. Thanks again Mike for all of your suggestions. Now I totally understand pulldown! And thanks to "Bob" from dvcreators. Bob, if your out there and reading this-kudos man. Now I can cancel my therapy sessions. Really, I have been trying to figure out this issue for months : ) Larry |

Larry,
I'm sure glad you figured this out and you can show your movie. I learned a bunch too. I had Dylan move the thread so maybe someone with more knowledge than I would join in and help. But, you were so resourceful, persistent and smart that your tracked it down. Congratulations and great job Larry! Mike
