Best way to get 1080p HD content on a DVD-5 that will play on an Xbox 360?
Okay. This may be a fools errand, but...
There's a setting in compressor that supposedly lets me put up to 90 minutes of HD video on a DVD-5. Is that any good? Is there any way to get a - let's say 30 minute 1080p video to play on the Xbox360 off a DVD-5? I could do it in WMV of course, but I'm on a mac. Also, WMV takes forever to encode. |

That's a good question... Time for me to do some experimenting on the 360. I don't have the HD-DVD drive, but it might be possible to do one on a DVD-5 that would play on it. I'll try one either later tonight or tomorrow and tell you how it goes.
By the way, it also plays H.264 under the .MP4 wrapper. You don't necessarily need WMV. |

I've seen ATSC quality video out of H.264 at 1080p at only 6 or 4Mbps.
