FCS 2 and Macbook Pro 2.2Ghz, 15"...?
Hi,
There is a chance I could be getting a great deal on a Macbook Pro 15" 2.2 Ghz... How good would FCS 2 roll on this? I would be using FCP a lot, Minidv and HDV. I would be using Color and DVD Studio Pro. I wouldn't be using Motion a lot, maybe once in a while. Does Color work on this computer? I'm confused, somewhere I read it didn't, another place I read it did. And is this computer, out of the box, installed with 1GB of RAM, or 2GB of RAM? Thank you VERY much for any possible advice, (ps: the deal is that good, I'll probably would go for this computer anyway, as I'm still on PC and really want to switch to FCP, but I just want to inform about these issues, that I'm not having much surprises after my possible purchase). |

whilst I'm no heavy user, I've had no issues with FCS2 on a normal macbook, altho its not officially supported. apple (and non-apple for that matter) laptops are getting so good these days, there really isn't much difference between them and desktop units. current model mbps all ship with 2gb, upgrades to 4gb cost around 200usd and you can sell the original sticks on too.
however, warning lights go off when I read someone has a prospective amazing deal on apple products.. they're not impossible to find (ive had two, but I'm very cautious!) so make sure you have all the info to hand and always remember - if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. |

Hi James,
I know, but I'll be able to check the laptop in person, so we'll see. It's not from a ripp off shop, it's from someone I know wanting to get rid of it. Thank you for the advice! Other people can chime in too! James, is Color also no problem? Because of the graphics card? Last edited by Mathieu Ghekiere; October 11th, 2007 at 11:22 AM. |
