PAL > NTSC conversion with AJA io through component is possible?
I have to make this PAL to NTSC conversion. Though Nattress seems to be a good option, I remembered a friend of mine has an AJA io. Is it possible to input PAL footage from my SONY Z1 through component cable and capture NTSC with FCP 6? How? I tried several times here but couldn't find a solution.
I had this idea because when I plug my PAL footage on my NTSC plasma TV through component cable, it works perfectly. I thought that maybe the same thing could work with AJA.

If you do it through your AJA you may find its more jumpy or storby then you want. You'll need Nattress Conversions Filters to really smooth things out and making them acceptable again. FCP can do it with the AJA but its doesn't always look the best. A few months back I did a similiar thing converting to and from PAL into NTSC. I had FCP 6 and a AJA IO LA which can do PAL. Soon there after I bought Nattress Conversions to better the results. Well worth it. Video became smooth again and the stroby effect from 25fps to 29.97fps smoothed out.

Thanks for the response, Jeff. Do you still remember the settings?
