Flip 4 Mac XDCam 2.1

Has anyone had luck importing XDCam HD 35mbps VBR 1080/24P material into Final Cut 6 via Gigabit Ethernet and having the footage stay in native form? I love the interface- it is extremely fast and you can rename clips but it converts all my footage into 1080/60i.

Heard back from Flip4Mac:

Dear Daniel,
Well, I did discover why you're having a problem, however, it isn't the answer you want to hear, I'm sure! Our Sony XDCAM Import component does not currently support 1080p footage. And I don't have a timeline for possible implementation. I'm checking with our development team on the possibility of adding a feature request for this format.
