Wow, stumped by 16:9 Pal Export...
This is quite embarrassing really!
I'm completely stumped by an export i'm trying to do for a DVPAL Anamorphic sequence. All my sequence and project settings are perfect for the Clips, DV-PAL Anamorphic. The footage plays 16:9 in the viewer, not stretched, just right. I export this based on my current settings, nothing changed, and my export is square. It doesn't add bars or squeeze, just crops the image. My original footage is HDV-SD 25P.... Is this where i'm going wrong? First time using SD with the HDV Cam. Hope you lot can help me! Hi Neil,
Your DV settings are correct. FCP adjusts your display settings to playback the anamorphic material in the correct ratio. If you record your material to tape and play it back through a widescreen TV, your footage will look right. To display the footage in the correct 16:9 ratio on your computer monitor you need to export it as a 16:9 sequence. There are a number of different ways to do this, all depends where you need to get to (web/dvd/telly?). Try the search - you'll find some excellent workflows. You can also change the quicktime movie properties and resave your file in as a 16:9 movie - change from 720x576 FHA movie we display to 1024x576. Hope that helps, Liam. |
