Apple Intermediate Codec with Premiere - good idea?

I've done a bunch of reading and it seems like the use of an intermediate codec is a good idea. I am about to start capturing for a feature length doco, and am keen to use Premiere on the Mac. I'm wondering if capturing to AIC is a good idea (it seems to work fine in the short tests I've done) - anyone had any experiece with this or AIC generally?

Thanks in advance!
Douglas

The big disadvantage of using AIC is that you lose the time code. So you can't re-capture the clips later on. For me that was reason enough not to use it.
