Bright Red in video?

I have some stills in final cut that have bright red. They don't looks so good on DVD. Is there a filter to legalize the reds?

pull down the saturation of the reds a bit using the color corrector. Reds go wonky due to the compression algorithms and the electronics at the front of the process. Pure reds are evil for video.

In final cut's color corrector, you can dial the reds down by using the limiter function to lock the correction to a specific color/luma range.
