External AV device connectivity
For years I've been using a Sony DVMC-DA2 to convert video from FCP to standard NTSC for display on a SD television. I've recently upgraded to FCS2 and it seems as though I'm having trouble with FCP6 constantly losing connection with the DA2 requiring me to refresh the device over and over again. This is a first for me as I've been using this converter for over 3 years now with FCP 3, 4 and 4.5. None of the previous versions of FCP exhibited this kind of problem.
I've got my device control preset as Firewire NTSC Basic, my sequence Preset is DV NTSC 48KHz and my video playback is set to Apple Firewire NTSC (720x480). Is this a Tiger issue or a FCP issue? I really don't know where to go from here. Any help would be appreciated. |

Has no one experienced a problem like this before?

Have you tried "non-controllable device" instead of NTSC basic? Your DA2 doesn't have any transport controls or tape to be threaded, like a controllable deck or camera would. Maybe that's confusing FCP?
Mike.
