Best PPCC Capture Settings on a PC to edit in FCP on a Mac?
A friend gave me 6 hours of old Mini-DV tapes that he wants to edit on his Mac (he has no Mini-DV player/recorder). He also gave me a 2 terabyte hard drive to transfer these files to, once they are captured. I have a PC with Premiere Pro CC. What format and codec should I capture these tapes in that will be best for him to edit his footage? I don't work with macs so I'm fairly ignorant about their video codec needs.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks. :-) |

Unless you can download the Quicktime ProRes codec for PC, which quite frankly I don't know if it enables capture, you can capture in the standard Premier DV codec. He will be able to play these files or convert them to QuickTime.
