Re: Oct 22 New Updates for FCP X
Interesting. These haven't shown up in my App Store Updates window. Although I haven't upgraded to Yosemite yet. I wonder if that has anything to do with it? Or maybe Apple are a bit slow to update the Aussie App Store?

Re: Oct 22 New Updates for FCP X
David - This is a bit of a mystery to me, too, as my results were mixed. The older Mac Pro (early 2008) running Yosemite v. 10.10 didn't have this update show up when checking for Updates; however, the newer MacBook Pro (mid 2012) did. (!).
Since there were a LOT of updates this weekend I figured there may have been a glitch somewhere. The other possibility, may be that the older MP is not capable of running what is in the update, or, ... maybe part of an update didn't get recognized. Or maybe it depended on the sequence the updates were done and the FCPX on the MP now incorporates this "Supplemental Content" where the one on the MBP did not. Needless to say, this has been a bit confusing. Who knows what evil lurks on the mind of the computer! Edit: For what it's worth, I don't remember ever having had an "Update" called "Supplemental Content" before. |

Re: Oct 22 New Updates for FCP X
Those updates were from late June.
ProApps Codecs v1.0.5 Not at all from Oct 22nd. I'm not sure what your reference is for that date. Someone doesn't seem to be checking very frequently ;) |

Motion Suplemental Content 1.1
Motion 5 Content v.1.1 June 2012. Well over 2 years old. Someone really isn't checking their updates often. ;) |

Re: Oct 22 New Updates for FCP X
Craig - all I can say is "Outch!"
This is what the computer "update" screen said. Oddly, they weren't identified as "Update"s but as "Supplemental Content". I do keep everything up to date but usually wait a few days or so to see what problems people are coming up with before doing it myself. All I can think of was since this happened on my '08 computer perhaps it is related to that, or it's SSD drive because sectors are known to go bad on them. I've got a computer guru relative that I'll ask about this but thanks for looking into it. Edit: Since this was "Supplemental Content" I thought it would be different from an "Update". |
