What's your workflow for sharing projects between editors?
Hi all,
After trying to hold back from fcp7 to fcpx, I finally gave in and started using fcpx. After using it for a week, I've grown to like it. I want to ask about sharing projects workflow that works for you: For me, in fcp7, I used to share my .fcp files with editors (given video files in the capture scratch do not change) and we would be able to see each other's work on each other's timeline and get the changes that way. fcpx is very different. I spent some time googling and this workflow seems promising: Sharing Final Cut Pro X Projects between editors for a collaborative workflow - fcp.co May I ask what workflow works for you in terms of sharing projects between editors? -Aa |

Aaron - granted this is a belated reply but it might also help someone else.
Apple has a White Paper on workflows for sharing FCPX with other users. I came across it at http://images.apple.com/finalcutpro/..._Practices.pdf The paper presents a nicely detailed approach for multiple users and multiple workstations. |

By far the biggest problems I have is sharing compound clips. Everything else is easy :)
Because compound clips are created as virtual clips within the event database it requires that you create copy events with the compound clips that you can then copy to another system. PITA! Hopefully Apple are working on better collaboration tools for the up coming version. I certainly hope so!
