Import FC Express file into FCP X

Hi All

I've just upgraded my Mac and am trying to get a current project from my old Mac in FC express into the new set up but am struggling.

Its probably easy but I have exported it as a .mov file and as a FCE file but FCP will not import it.

Am I faced with having to start again or is there something I am missing?

Thanks for any help.

Cheers

Import into FCP 7, export to XML and then import into Premiere?

Re: Import FC Express file into FCP X

Import into FCP7, export XML and then convert using 7toX which is available on the App Store. Unfortunately the drawback of FCE is the lack of pro export options such as XML. Otherwise, exporting a self-contained mov file should work just to get a finished project into FCPX.

Thanks guys

I exported the FCE project as a mov file but FCPX will not import that? Am I exporting it incorrectly some how?

I don't have FCP 7

Does that movie open in QuickTime? And how big is it? An SD file should be at least 1gb per five minutes.
