For what it's worth, finally found out the issue: even though the unit is new, original factory sealed, never put into service and obviously under warranty, you can't mention the warranty for some reason. There's nothing in the Sony warranty that says it's limited to the original buyer or is not transferable -- I'm looking at it right now -- but Sony gets all bent out of shape if you mention that in an eBay listing.

Sorry to hear about your situation. I'd be interested to know if you have any of the Cool Lights 575 HMI Fresnels and C-Stands. Also interested in Sony 16 or 32 GB SxS cards. I may also be interested in the Tascam HD-P2 Digital Recorder or Sound Devices 302 or even better if you have a 442.

If you have a Convergent Design Nanoflash I would be very interested in that.

The camera has been brought to the UK from Australia by me. Its hardly used with the following drum hours:-

Operation 15x10H
Drum Run 7x10H
Tape Run 5x10H
Threading 13x10

Ony one scratch on the body under the iLink port - thanks to the firewire plug. All functions work well no other wear and tear. All in original packaging with everything supplied as it came with the camera including the long life NP-F970 battery.

PS: the camera is not a gray import. It was brought at a Sony Authorised reseller Optel in Osborne Park, Perth Western Australia.

I'd rather try locally first as the shipping costs would be very high. Fully insured shipping within the UK via Parcel Force runs to £100.
