ipod capture future
Has anyone heard of a way to modify of know of a device that can enable one to use their ipod as a tapeless option? Or does anyone have any comments about the future of this possibility.

iPod is designed for periodic hard drive access to load mp3's into flash memory for playback. The hard drive will overheat and eventually fail if things like video are written to it for an extensive period of time, not to mention the battery won't last much past an hour or two.
I'm not sure what these guys have in mind but an iPod is not the way to go.

Ben is correct. An iPod, while novel, is not made for this. It can work but you will ruin the iPod functionality and what you are left with, is a very expensive and slow portable drive with terrible battery life.
