John,

Is there any chance of you producing a HDV version in the near future?

HDV is a much more complex beast! The interframe compression makes real-time color correction etc a lot more challenging.

The first step to adding HDV support to the software would likely be to permit capturing, previewing and the other features that don't require dealing with the interframe compression.

However, as it stands, the software can be use in an HDV environment for monitoring purposes - i.e., monitoring a downscaled SD DV output while recording to HDV on tape.

THE ENOSOFT DV PROCESSOR HAS BEEN OFFICIALLY RELEASED!!!

You can download it from http://www.enosoft.net

FREE FOR PERSONAL USE

The downloadable version is a personal-use only (non-commercial) version. It has no time limit restrictions.

WHAT ABOUT COMMERCIAL USE?

For commercial use, you can use the downloadable version for 30 days for evaluation purposes. To use the software for commercial purposes, you need to purchase the fully-licensed version. A license is required for every computer on which the software is installed. The commercial version is a separate download, available only from our on-line store.

Until the end of March 2007, you can buy the fully-licensed version for a low, introductory price:

1 - 3 Licenses $129.00 USD (a saving of $50.00 USD)
4 - 9 Licenses $119.00 USD
10 - 19 Licenses $109.00 USD
20+ Licenses $99.00 USD

ARE THERE ANY DIFFERENCES?

Yes. The non-commercial version uses a single threaded decoder/encoder. The commercial version uses a multiple threaded decoder/encoder. On single CPU systems, this makes no difference. On multiple CPU systems (including dual core), the commercial version takes advantage of the multiple processors.

Also, in certain operating modes, the non-commercial version occasionally adds a “spoiler” frame to the processed video. Specifically, this is when the non-commercial version is used in the Device-To-Device mode or AVI-To-Device mode, and the software is modifying the DV stream in someway.

Users of the fully-licensed version get access to private areas on the Enosoft Users Group and main web site. We intend to add new features to the software. Some of these will only be available in the fully-licensed version.

WHAT OPERATING SYSTEMS ARE SUPPORTED?

The Enosoft DV Processor has been tested successfully on the following operating systems:

Microsoft Windows XP Pro SP2
Microsoft Windows XP Pro x64
Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate (32-bit and 64-bit*)

At this time, Enosoft strongly recommends either Microsoft Windows XP Pro SP2 or XP Pro x64. Other versions of XP and Vista have not been tested but are expected to support the software.

*To make sure all the features of the software work on the 64-bit version of Microsoft Vista, you should install the software from an elevated command prompt.

You must also have a 32-bit or 64-bit CPU that supports SSE2 instructions. The software will not install on a system without SSE2 instructions or on a version of Windows prior to XP.

Don't forget - there's an additional 10% off the introductory price for DV Info members.
