m2t files into Final Cut?

HD upgrade for the FS-4 Pro arrived today. Upgrade went painlessly enough, but now how do I get Final Cut 5 to recognize the mt2 file format the firestore records in ?

Joe,

I have the exact issue and posted a reply to another thread. Here's the basics:

I have a call into Apple Pro Tech support to see if there is something I'm doing wrong but my sense is that M2T files just aren't supported - what needed is a QT-HD file which the FS-4 Pro HD doesn't have as an option.

I'll keep the forum updated.

Joe,

I just got my answer back from Apple; I'm creating an entirely new post on this issue since it affects all of us who want to shoot in HDV with the FS-4 Pro.

M2t file conversion?

Is there a software solution that will allow me to convert the Firestore's M2t files into the same quicktime format created when transfering from the Sony Z1U to final cut via firewire?
