In Search Of - Portable Capture to USB Stick Device
I’m looking for a portable/field video capture device that, when filming is done, can write out to USB Memory sticks.
Background: I record rugby football matches ostensibly for the benefit of the referees. I have a Canon XF305 and at the end of a day’s recording i head home and produce a HD video complete with time and score overlays etc. I then post this to the referee so that he may critique his/her performance. All good however it would be better if i can provide them the video on the day. Additionally i’m often asked by teams for a copy also. I looked at the Sony VRD-MC6 DVD writer device but apart from the price (I was hoping for sub $400), it only writes 1 DVD so i’d need a duplicator to create copies for the teams AND i presume it draws a bit of power with the motor running continually. Power is a problem because most grounds I attend don’t have mains supply! I was hoping there might be a small device that captured to internal memory and, at the end of the day, could be copied out to a memory stick. Sort of like a custom built laptop with video capture card - all in a neat little battery powered box. Has anyone heard of such a device? |
