Which tapeless solution should I buy
Hi all,
I have not been here for a while. To date, my work flow includes recording on a Canon 60d camera using the ML firmware and editing entirely on my iPad Air using Pinnacle Studio for the iPad and then uploading the finished videos to YouTube. The Canon camera works pretty well as a tapeless solution but it only will record 20 minutes at a time and then the ML firmware has to restart a new clip. Plus you have to worry about over heating. I also have an older camera the Sony FX-7. I still think this is a pretty good camera and I would like to turn it into a tapeless recorder. Preferably in an iPad compatible format. I am looking for something that one I don't have to convert/capture the data before I can start editing. This takes a long time. Also I would like to be able to record for more than one hour at a time. So, I am looking into a HDD unit as well as any SD recording units. I just got a Sandisk 64GB 80mps card for coping files from my Hyperdrive UDMA2 to my IPad Air. Any suggestions? John Gerard |
