Is anyone capturing with a Powerbook?

hi

I'm new here.

just wondering if anyone is capturing directly to a PB
i'm buying a DVX100a and a 17" Powerbook on Tuesday

would like to know if i can capture directly.

just want to do this until the FS-4 comes out.

Someone showed me the Ben software
just wondering if there are any other available

would i be able to use all of the features on the DVX100a? (24p etc...)?

Is there a minimum requirement on the VRAM (64MB or 128MB)

any help or tip is appreciated

regards,
Charles

Hi Charles,

I have used the PB to capture using BTV. I can't comment on your other questions, but I had good results shooting with my XL-1 and BTV. You can check the "Frankenstore" Thread for more details. http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showthread.php?s=&threadid=22097

cheers,

DK

Well, I use my 12" to capture directly sometimes. Just open the capture window in FCP, and hit "Capture Now" and it'll record whatever is showing on my cam. I use this when I have no tape. But it's a pain to drag around my laptop with a short firewire cable.
