HD/SDI to HDD
I am sure this has been talked about but i couldn't find anything with a quick search.
I will be coming out of my switch with a HD/SDI signal and would like to record straight to HDD. What is the best way to do that? I will already be taking it to my MacPro with a Multibridge, and this will be used as a backup. I would really like it to be rack mountable. I thought about an xserve with an intensity card, but it is pretty pricey (still want it though). TIA |

I am not really all that worried about super high quality. It just going to be for archive and patching in video if I miss a cut.

One of our clients is using 4 MOTU V3HD's into 4 MacBook Pro laptops.
It's a DVCPRO HD only solution, but looks great. These are long form multicamera shows so data rate needed to stay reasonable. |

Hi Russel,
You need a BlackMagic HD Extreme card or AJA HD-SDI capturecard to do the job. |
