According to one of the shooters, this was shot 99% with the 5D2. (The shot from the back of the log was a GoPro, and yes, the log eventually rolled over on it!) It was produced as a paid, narrative infomercial and shown on broadcast TV. (I saw it on the local NBC affiliate.)
In post, they corrected for rolling shutter, but according to the shooter, it really wasn't necessary. There are a couple of fast motion scenes where the rolling shutter really shows up, but if anything, it looks artistic and intentional in context.
Anyway, this shows what can be done with a pro crew, some 5D2s and a budget.
