I just ordered a H4n, so will be shooting a dialogue scene soon. Will keep you posted on how that goes.

I have the cheap Rode Videomic and haven't been thrilled with the results. So I'm considering just attaching the H4n straight to the end of a boom, and using it's internal mics... Is that crazy?

Also, excuse my ignorance, but is there any difference in sound quality between using a normal 3.5mm headphone jack CABLE as oppose to XLR?
