Hey Dutch,

Not sure if you're looking for critiques as a finished piece or not, but you did ask for feedback, and I watched it while I'm waiting for a render. And being as I'm a fly-fisher, I thought I'd offer my 2 cents - but remember it's Canadian - so my 2 cents is virtually worthless.

I think it just needs a little more polish in the edit, notably the audio - has a couple of clunks in the intro and wind-noise midway through. The 2-shot of the fishers seems slightly under-exposed, and some of the shots (grasses, tree leaves) are a little dull for the content. It also looks like you added an orange filter to the top half of the frame in a few shots (in post?).

One of the great aesthetics of flyfishing is sunlit flyline arcing through the air in slo-mo (ala River Runs through it).

Anyways, there's some great shots there, love the slider footage, but it just seems to be missing something (fish maybe)!

Hi Ken,

Thanks for your 2 cents, more like a loonie! I appreciate your input. This piece I tried to focus on color correction. I applied a gradient with an orange, slightly desaturated look and tried to match it the whole way through. Did you think it was ineffective? I was waiting to capture the "River Runs Thought it " shots but the light just wasn't right. Thank you for your feed back, without it I'll never learn!

I'd have to agree with Ken in that it lacked something (apart from the fish!).

Dull light comes with this type of subject sometimes, but it really needed to have some sections of footage captured during the magic light of early morning mist and late afternoon/evening to add extra atmosphere (without the need of adding filters in post).

The shaky clips didn't fit too well with the smoother sections, and maybe just a few seconds of underwater footage would have lifted it to another level.

The best sections for me (although not always smooth) were the sliding clips at water level.
