FYI...Found .plist fix for T3i for E-1 Movie Plugin for FCP
I just posted a step by step fix for importing T3i files using the E-1 Movie plugin for Final Cut Pro in the normal EOS 60D/550D/Rebel T2i forum.
The log and capture will recognize the memory card and the plugin will transcode the files to Apple Pro Res 422. I even put a screen capture of the exact changes. |

Re: Canon EOS Rebel T3i Video Test
Chad:
1. Is that 60p 1080 or 820 ? 2. How about the digital zoom, is it clean ?

Re: Canon EOS Rebel T3i Video Test
Chris,
The video was shot at 1080p at 29.97fps including the Mark IV shooting the T3i in action. I have not tried the digital zoom feature at the moment but I will for my full review of this wonderful camera very soon. I just picked the T3i on late Friday afternoon just to charge the battery, format the card and set the clock/date stamp. I will definitely get back to you about the zoom feature. thanks |

Re: Canon EOS Rebel T3i Video Test
Thanks Chad.. My interest of course is primarily video. Looking at the Manual, its pretty clear the 60fps is 1280 x 720.
The digital zoom does look interesting because my hope is that the image sampling occurs after the camera is instructed to only use part of the chip. This was available in SD mode on the T2i, but the hope is to get some decent digital zoom to aid in nature stuff.

Re: Canon EOS Rebel T3i Video Test
Chris,
I just posted a Digital Zoom 3x-10x video test of the new Canon T3i/600D on Youtube here... YouTube - Canon EOS Rebel T3i Digital Zoom Video Test The quality looks great zoomed in on the 18mp CMOS sensor at 1080p. Definitely, glass quality is a major factor at 10x but I can only imagine a 400mm on a 1.6x crop at 10x digital zoom. A 6400mm focal length equivalent? |

Another Canon EOS Rebel T3i/600D Digital Zoom Video Test of the Supermoon
I paired the Canon T3i with an EF 300mm f/4L IS lens and utilized the 3x-10x digital zoom feature to video capture the supermoon in 1080p.
Check out my Youtube video here... YouTube - Canon EOS Rebel T3i Digital Zoom Video Test #2: Supermoon thanks |

Re: Canon EOS Rebel T3i Video Test
Nice music. I see you had the same problem I found, at 3x you can already see shimmer due to atmospheric disturbances. I shot at 400mm and 3x. I also tried 5x and 10x but the shimmer effect was just too much.
