Okay, this is about as quick as it gets. I'm slammed today, but received my 7d body. So, I quickly slapped on the lens I had from my Rebel (EFS18-55, 3.5-5.6) and grabbed a couple actors (aged 4 & 8). Notes:
-Used camera mic only
-Used lightweight tripod and a couple shots handheld
-Mini dream sequences had grain effects and cheesy "earthquake" effect, so don't judge those!
-Used mostly auto setting, but manual focus
-Entire shoot took 30 minutes, entire edit took 30 minutes...so don't judge too harshly. :-)
So...it was a fun camera test. I look forward to doing more with real audio, manual settings and some lights or at least reflectors. FYI, we have a RED, so I'm not planning on using this as a production camera. I'll use it for family stuff and shorts like these that are really fun. (I NEVER use my RED for stuff like this because it's too big of a setup...maybe the EPIC or Scarlett will, but for now, the 7D rocks for quick moving around). Enjoy:
