Cost for fully-packaged DVD
Hi,
I am looking into selling a recent documentary production... distributing on DVD using local shops to sell. The film is about 20 minutes long (wasn't allowed to go longer because of grant guidlines) but the doc is about the history of a charished, community building so I think there will be a hype to buy it. So, complete with DVD menus, labels, packaging, etc; what would the good selling price be, per DVD? I am thinking 15 dollars. |

The best guage for a price point will be the price point on similar products. Does such a DVD exist? What does it currently sell for? Who would be distributing it?
Find a similar product, and compare your price point. |

I don't think any retailer is going to buy from you at that price point. They need to make a profit too.

I find that most retailer markup is about 100%. So if you sell to them for $6.00 per DVD, they will retail it for $12.00. What I do is sell to retailers but also market for thier going price on my website.
regards,
