Compressor VS. DVD Studio Pro 4 for compatability?

I'm exporting FCP finished chapters to QT uncompressed and improting them to DVD studio pro 4. Would I have better looking compression using compressor?
And would a DVD have better compatibility for settop players for either compression.
I hate how you can't change the bitrate in DVD studio pro after you've imported files. Anyone know a way around that?

I have been using all Maxell DVD-R's and have had about a 10% return problem.

Thanks

Rich
