Can't seem to get audio AND video together off of archive DVD..
Hey all,
Well, I'm trying to rip the content off of a final copy DVD I was given for a Discovery show I edited several months back to post on my website. When I import the file in Sorenson Squeeze, it plays with both audio and video but when I try and encode to a quicktime it doesn't bring over the audio. When I bring the file into Vegas, it only takes the video. Right now I'm simply copying the video_ts files in one gig chunks and renaming them to mpg files which all these programs obviously recognize but can't seem to get the audio over. Any suggestions? |

I'm not sure. It definitely is not 5.1, it's just normal stereo.

Stereo and mono audio can be encoded as AC3, in addition to surround sound.
You could use DVD Decrypter to copy and demux (seperate the audio stream from the video stream) your DVD. DVD Decrypter will show you if the audio stream is AC3. See this guide here for directions on how to demux a DVD: http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/dvddec.htm Once you have your audio file, you can convert it into the format you need using BeSweet (available here: http://dspguru.doom9.net).
