ac3 for dvd

I have nero ultra 6. I am not familiar with its ac3 capabilities, if any. I want to take wave audio (music) and convert it to ac3 for dvd. Is nero 6 capable of doing this? If so how? If it needs a plugin where do I get it?
I am going to import my edited video and ac3 into tmpgenc dvd author. If your familiar with all this, help is appreciated. I do understand there is a plug in for dvd author . But I just wondered if nero could do the same thing, ac3 that is.

The retail version of Nero 6 Ultra Edition includes a stereo AC3 encoder. If you want to encode 5.1 AC3 you will need to purchase a $20 plugin: http://ww2.nero.com/enu/Multichannel..._InfoPage.html.

can you direct me to where it is? I would just settle for finding the ac3 encoder included. I looked all over.

Try running your video through NeroVision. You should be able to encode the audio to AC3 in that program.

Ok, I am confused now. Why do I want to run my video through nero vision? Are saying that my audio(wave file) alone, cannot be converted to ac3 without including my video? All I want is to convert the wave to an ac3 file. I will then import my ac3 file and my video mpeg file into dvd author. I did hunt around for this ac3 converter in nero last night with no luck finding it. Maybe I don't have it included for some reason. I don't know. how many nero visions are there? I have nero vision express 2 and nero vision express 6.

Make sure you have the latest version of NeroVision Express (currently version 3). You can download the free update (if you own the Nero 6 suite) at http://ww2.nero.com/enu/nero-up.php.

I don't know if just running the audio alone through NeroVision would work or not. You would just have to try it and see if it works.

I will try to update, it has been awile since doing so. You maybe correct about only running audio alone through it, I could swear I heard that somewhere. Only one way to find out unless someone knows for sure.
