DVD Studio Pro Issue: "Format Successful" with no disc.
I have a project all set up and ready to go in DVD Studio Pro 3 but whenever I go to File> Burn, the little pop up window comes up and says "Format Successful" and I haven't even inserted a blank DVD yet.
I've tried restarting the program and restarting my computer as well but nothing seems to be working. Any idea's as to what the problem might be and/or how to fix it? |

Dvdsp
Ricky,
Try to do a build then build (format) the DVD from there. Hope that helps. Don't know why you are having that problem. Jon Schwartz

I've tried that but I left all the original settings the same because I'm unsure of what they do and it still does the same thing. Thanks though!

DVD Formatting
Rickey,
Try to isolate the problem. Can you burn a data DVD in the finder? Make sure that the DVD drive is functioning properly before we start to worry about DVDSP settings. Jon Schwartz

Good call. Now that you mention it, the last time I tried to burn a dvd like that, it didn't work.. I'll have to check that out. I'll let you know what happens.

Ok, I just burned a data DVD and it worked fine so it's not the DVD Drive.

DVD Formatting
Ricky,
OK if the drive is OK let's assume that DVDSP has a quirk. Go to users>library>preferences>com.apple.dvdstudiopro.plist and trash that preference. Restart DVDSP and see if that solves the problem. You other option if that will not work is to just do a build and to use a program like Toast to take the build folder and create the DVD. Hope this helps some.

That didn't work either but I figured out a way around all this nonsense. I burned the Disc Image from DVDSP and then used Disk Utility to burn the DVD.
Thanks for the help though, much appreciated! |
