only low budget DVD author programs that have "auto chapter" function?
Hi,
I have access to Vegas+DVD and Encore 1.5. But from a quick look at them - neither can auto-create chapter points. Then I started PowerProducer from cyberlink - and that 40 USD program could create chapter points either by time-spacing ( every X minute ) or by scene detect ... please tell me that I've missed some options in Encore! ( I do really like Encore best ) // Lazze \\ |

As a side note you can create chapter marks in Vegas and have
DVDA use that to create the chapters (yes, it is not auto)... Out of curiosity I would like to ask: why would you want this? Usually you want the chapter to start at least when a certain scene does and you want it to divide a story in logical blocks (like chapters in a book which you don't start halfway in a sentence or paragraph either). It seems a bit unlogical to do this automatically if you want to give the user the best interface possible to browse a DVD. Or....?

Hi Rob,
You're right - but I'm in a hurry. Just made a "quick edit" of 17 hours of video that I'll fit onto 3-4 DVD:s. Don't have the time right now to make logical chapters - but I do want chapter points to be able to "jump" in the movie using the DVD remote. Guess I'll have to spend some "quality" time by the computer this evening as well .... making chapters ;-) // Lazze \\ |
