HELP!!! DVD Burning Issue
Hi, I'm on an extremely tight deadline and I've successfully burned DVDs on DVD+R using the TDK indiDVD burner, which supposedly burns every format. After rendering through DVD Architect, I couldn't get the burner to do DVD-R or DVD + RW. Why? The messages I got included "wrong parameters" or "wrong or invalid format" or whatever. For the record I'm using Memorex discs. Why can't I burn those formats on the indiDVD? Why only DVD+R? Do I change settings or what?
Thanks alot for any speedy response. |

Another thought-- could it be as simple a thing as another brand being somehow more compatible, even though the DVD+R worked with this one brand? This doesn't make any sense at all, really.

Memorex is a marketer, and quality varies. My cheap Princo disks are consistently more compatable than a batch of Memorex I had.
On the other hand, the error messages seem to indicate a problem with MPG encoding and authoring. Did you burn directly from authoring pgm, or did you create ISO file or AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders? Many parameters have to be right - or it's not a video DVD!

Given that the DVD+R burned just great straight from the authoring program, I assume the DVD-R would too. I might just check another brand though. Thanks for the input!

Crisis resolved! Since it's a TDK burner I tried out a TDK DVD-R, and whammo bammo--no problem!
A valuable lesson in the unpredictable nature of disc brands. |
