Authoring a DVD (standard/limitation)
Hello
I use Adobe Encore (CS2 – CS3-CS4). I am working with a project where I have 125 mpeg files and 18 menus. The menu's is structured in 4 levels. The project is total 6,5 Gigabytes When I use the “Check project” function in Encore the program do not rapport errors, but when I start to burn the project on disc (DL), or try to make an iso file, or try to make a harddisc folder, the program stops and rapport an “Abnormal error” after 5.25 gigabytes. The Encore CS 2 and 3 is running on VISTA and I run the program as an administrator and the cs4 is running on windows XP pro – it is the same place the error accure. Is there a place where I can read about the limitation about Authoring a DVD. I know that you can have 14 links on each menu in 16:9 and 18 links in 4:3 format. Kind regards Flemming |

I burn a lot with Encore and your problem doesn't sound familiar. The one time I couldn't get Encore to burn, I saved the project to a new file and started stripping things out. You can also save to a new file and strip out all the menus and use very basic ones and only do one menu for each video. I used both approached and ultimately found out that there was something a bit pink with one of the menus I built from scratch in Photoshop.
