FCP and DVD Studio Pro title questions
Well, the subject could be a tad misleading, but I don't think it is. Sorry though if it is.
I filmed a wedding a little over 2 weeks ago, and I'm nearly ready to burn it onto DVD, using DVD Studio Pro 2. What the happy couple asked me to do, was, when the DVD is put in, and they wanted to play through the movie, the only title that would appear would be the first one. Saying something like So and so's wedding on this day... Now, when what they also requested, which is the main reason I'm seeking advice, is when they go to the chapter selection page, when they select a chapter they want to watch, they want a title to appear, then the movie starting. So, my question, is how to I set it to do that? I thought I had it figured out, but I don't remember anymore... I guess turning 20 really is old... Anyways, would you be able to export all of the titles, 25 total (it's a lot, I know, but it's what was requested) and somehow put each titles before the video on the chapters page? I'm looking for the easiest way, but I'm ok for doing things which take some time, but the end justifies the means. Thanks again!

Do you know how to put a tab in the "Timeline" of DVD SP 2?
If you do then go tab crazy....from there when you go to make your menu include the info to get there....if that is the question you need help on please respond. |

I'll be sure to check it out when I get home. I'm out of the country on business for the next week. But I will let you know. Thank you very much for responding.
Thanks

Ok. I am ready to put this on to DVD. These tabs you were referring to. I do not know what you mean. I do not use DVD Studio Pro as much as Final Cut Pro.
Let me see. I put my chapter markers in FCP first? I then export my movie with those chapters. I then import into DVD Studio Pro. I then assign these tabs? Does any of that seem right? Thank you.

I think Tabs are chapters! I'm not too sure either about the whole tab thing.
Yeah it seems you just need to put a chapter marker at the begining of each title you need to jump to. Then have the button jump to that chapter marker. If they want that section of footge to play all the way through and carry on to the end of the wedding you're set, if they just want what they selected to play and jump back to the menu then look into using stories. You can add chapter markers in dvdsp & fcpro. Jake |

Sorry, I have been sick.
As to the markers and making them. Go to this site as it shows how to make a marker or better term would be a "Chapter" http://www.kenstone.net/fcp_homepage/subpictures_easter_egg.html How you get it to link to the chapters you will have to crate buttons on the main menu and you will the right click and draw down to the chapter you want the video to link to. I do hope this helps. |
