DVDSP and emac
Just bought a refurb emac (just until I get enough jack for a new DPG5, then the emac becomes the property of my wife and daughter). In the meantime, I want to run DVD Studio. However, when i bought the emac i was looking at the specs for DSP 1.5 and not 2.0 2.0 says you need at least a 733 mhz, and my emac is only a 700 mhz.
Anyone tried used DSP2.0 on a 700 mhz machine? Also, anyone have any luck installing a replacement drive into an emac, or using an external burner with DSP with any good results? Thanks, Jeremiah Hall |

I suspect it will just encode very slow. However, Apple has been known to disable the loading of software if the computer does not meet minimum performance requirements. Nothing permanent, just the software won't load. External burner should be just fine, if the software loads. iDVD will not recognize external, non-SuperDrives.
