best quality export for DVD; AVID G4 iDVD
What export format would produce the best quality DVD?
I'm working on AVID xpress dv on a G4 mac, using iDVD. Uncompressed Quicktime? The project is a four minute music video. What would be the ideal format for a web delivery? any suggestions are welcome. thanks |

Well you have to use mpeg-2(basically) with dvd-video. Starting with uncompressed QT is a good start but the iDVD hasn't got a very good encoder so only expect so much from it.
I'd check out Sorenson for web delivery. Sorenson Squeeze for Flash MX is a great tool. Jake |

Steven,
A good mpeg-2 encoder is BitVice by Innobits, here's their website: http://www.innobits.com/

Rik, yes that's a good encoder but idvd doesn't support 3rd party encoders.
