DVD-R, +R and new DVD players
Hi,
I'm looking for a new DVD player that can really handle both DVD-R/W and DVD+R/W . I have two cheapie Apex machines, but I'd like to get higher end features such as component output. A lot of these players don't advertise support for various formats, yet there is casual support. The website www.vcdhelp.com is useful, but I'd like to hear from members on this group. Would you mind posting some info about your DVD players and your success with writable DVDs? Thanks. |

Apex AD-1100W The remote control REALLY sucks. They were too cheap to put navigation arrows, so you have to press a Shift key. This is easy enough to learn, but your friends will have a rough time with it. This unit plays CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW, including directories of mixed files such as MP3, MPEG1, MPEG2, JPG. I have not yet tried DVD+R and DVD+RW. Lots of frame forward/backward, Fast Forward/Rewind 2x,4x,6x,8x and Slow Forward/Rewind 2x,4x,6x,8x. |

Compatability is a difficult thing. I'd at least suggest you take with
you a couple of burned discs (preferably) different formats to a shop and see which brands play what.
