What DVD Burner Do you Use?
Hi, I'm currently looking for a CD DVD burner that won't let me down. I have an Alienware laptop that has Windows XP Pro. It has a 120GB hard drive and 4 GB of RAM w/ P4 3.6 GHZ processor. There are two internal CD DVD burners as well. I use a 500GB external hard drive for all my video. I edit with Sony Vegas 8 pro and DVD Architect.
The burners in my Alienware are optical QSI 24 times DVD. I want to either replace them with higher quality or add an external burner. I dont have SATA, but I do have four USB 2.0 ports and of course Firewire. My question to you guys is; What do you use and what are your suggestions for a good high quality burner? I'm currently looking at the possibility of the Plextor external PX-716UF. Your help, experiance and suggestions would be most appreciated. Thanks, Ray |

I don't think you can go wrong
with a Plextor. One thing that convinced me to go with it was this:
http://www.epinions.com/content_168688979588 Been using if for a few years, and it's never let me down and is still going strong. The versatility of combo USB/firewire is, IMO, good to have. Plextors may be slightly more expensive, but I think the quality is worth it. Good luck.
