DVC9--Thanks for Lunch--Paul Firth!
Another entry that I thought deserved some recognition and had no feedback thread that I could find.
Nice job Paul. Liked the twist at the end and was happy to see it. Mike

Good solid production. Clear and complete story with 30 seconds to spare, very nice. A little predictable. At lunch I thought it might have been an affair, but as soon as you didn't show her face for the cookie thing I knew who she was. (How is it that she managed to work all day and come home and make cookies before he even gets home?)

Ahhh, a nice piece....and with a reverse twist no less. The pacing on this was really good, aided in part by a really good selection of angles and shots, and of course great musical selections to keep the mood just right.
I admit, ya got me. I wasn't sure where everything was going at the half-way point...I thought I knew following the family photos, etc, but then they way you scripted, shot, and especially scored the piece from her office to him driving into the driveway pulled me for a bit of a loop, which I expect was the intention, only to have the reverse twist at the end coming full circle to my first thought. Well done. A complete story in a very short time, that wasn't rushed or frantic. A very solid production. -Jon

I loved the twist, anticipating the affair thing made me a bit uncomfortable, so a nice happy ending for all!

Thanks a lot for your feedback everyone. Sorry I didn't respond before now but have been out of town and busy at work.
It was my first production and I found out that ideas don't play out exactly on film the way they do in my head. The hardest part was directing my wife in bed with a friend of ours (Jacob) who is almost 20 years younger than we are. |
