Fortunately it isn't a matter of all of us having to live "in the same skin." The software allows a choice of "skins" -- the only downside being that Chris and his tech guy have to spend time to create them.

Some of us like this one and since it was intended as a temporary placeholder during upgrades, we're asking that it be kept. Definitely let Chris know what you like in a DVi skin so, with luck and Chris' good graces, your preferences are included as a choice on the drop-down list of skins.

Both of these skins have been available since the big reorganization a few months back (in a convenient drop down list--in fact there was a wide and a narrow version of the DVi blue and white version)... I however, prefer the one Chris et al. made (the blue and white DVi skin). This stock vBulletin skin I've never liked... it reeks of what I call the "dumbed down" look... big gaingly icons, overly large text... I much prefer the minimalist style that the forum re-launched with... but that's me.

I prefer "minimalist" as well... and would rather have the "blue-white" version back. We're still going to offer the "old skool" classic DV Info look shortly as well. The Skinz drop-down menu shall return very soon.

Mmmmm... this current incarnation had me wondering whether I was at DV Info: and not at the HD forum instead!!

There's quite a few video forums that have this look - so any likelihood that DV Info can again be visually distinguishable from the rest would be welcomed by me at the very least...

Thanks for your continuing efforts Chris!!

Yup, this is yer "default" skin -- and strictly temporary -- although we'll keep it as a user selection.

I really like the original style. Not that I'd gripe if everyone wanted to keep the new look, but honestly, this one (for now) is driving my eyes bonkers.

Agreed. The white bits are tooo bright. How about 18% gray?

Update?

Any idea when the nice, pretty version of DVinfo will be back?

We're working on it... when it's all said and done, there will be several pretty versions to choose from.

Versions. I said versions. Get your mind out of the gutter.
