Adam, the pages I was able to access were the ones I never go to. The ones I could not access were the ones I always go to. By clearing the history, I'm not able to access all pages again.

No, not history. Cache. The cache is where your browser keeps the content of visited pages. And if it stored any while the server was down, it will assume it can just show you the saved contents.

By clearing the cache you force the browser to download all contents anew.

Google Chrome will not work until you clear your browsing history.

It was pretty darn fanny... looked like good old hacker code.

Re: Server downtime this morning... resolved, obviously

I cleared my cache and it's been working for me.

Then I received an email notification with a link for the latest post .... and it borked on me again. (The link was http://www.dvinfo.net/forum/wedding-...-new-post.html)

Re: Server downtime this morning... resolved, obviously

Well I cleared temp internet files and history but not cookies?? I still get code if I click on Wedding and Events Techniques but I can go directly to any individual thread in the same forum if it's been posted.

I clicked on Andrews link above and it works fine for me!

Is there any special way to clear the cache in IE 11 ??? Still seems like something is not right on the Weddings and Events page

Re: Server downtime this morning... resolved, obviously

Shucks I'm still having an issue!!

I can easily access the latest post on the wedding forum and respond but the main forum list still kicks up code and the same "link is broken" error !!

Anyone else with the same problem?? Rest of the form seems fine..it's just the main Weddings and Events listing

UPDATE : I eventually had to delete all cookies as well as temp files and history and all is well now but had to log into the forum afresh !! YAY!!

Chris

Re: Server downtime this morning... resolved, obviously

I can go anywhere on the forum now BUT because I deleted cookies I have to log in again. Problem is that if I check the box that says "Remember Me" it doesn't!! So every time I want to go to DVInfo I have to go thru the login process every time. Even if I agree with the Win prompt that asks if I want to save the password it doesn't even remember that either!

Anyone know why this is happening?? It used to remember me prior to the server issues??

Luddites rule. Google Chrome on Windows XP is fine, at least presently.

Re: Server downtime this morning... resolved, obviously

Hi Chris

Not a problem it has been resolved now thank goodness. For anyone else having issues with IE 11 you need to delete the cache AND also uncheck the option that tells you to preserve frequently visited sites
So I had Temp files, cookies and history checked and then did the delete and it all worked BUT it wouldn't allow me to stay logged on to the forum because you then have to go back to the options and do a second temp files and history delete BUT keep cookies unchecked and the important thing is to recheck the Preserve frequently visited sites (first option again (which I didn't do) so it never creates a cookie so you have to log in every time.

All is perfect now on my favourite forum !!

I had problems early today Saturday 05102014 with Google Chrome MacBook Pro Mavericks. I could get to DVInfo.net but forums were not found. Using my IPad now later in the day.

Just Cleared my Chrome Browser Cache on a Maverick powered Mac and I got to the forums properly after not being able to. Let's see how long it lasts
