I still don't see the point of Twitter (life seems to short and there is already too much noise and not enough signal) but I may just be behind the times.
I'd be really grateful if someone could explain what I might get from Twitter that I don't already get from DV info.

I suppose the upside of twitter is that it puts everyone in one place and enables an easy dynamic response system. You can follow the political leaders of your choice, industry leaders, industry news sites, your friends and get one feed and feedback mechanism for everything. Granted, you have to dig through a lot of 'made toast this morning, not very crunchy'. If you look at twitter and go 'huh?' then Twitter may not be for you, and that's perfectly fine, forums and news sites and blogs are going to be around for a long time. I think people are getting better at scanning through to find good bits everywhere (forums, advertising, rss feeds, walking down the street), and Twitter is just that taken to the next internet level.

My twittername is Panteia
Just joined twitter a couple of days ago and stil do not know if I will be using it. Actually I have serious doubts. The fact that DVInfo has a Twitteraccount made me try it. |
