Thoughts/Notes on Day 1 at the DV Expo East.
Aside from me still recovering from a bad cold the show was great. Caught a look at the new Sony PD-110? as well as the Canon GL-2.
I also got a chance to meet the one & only Chris Hurd! **Note to Chris: I'm sorry I didn't have time to chat a little longer, but I'll be there again today & will definitely swing by the Canon booth. Oh yeah, was the Soderbergh autographed XL-1S at the Canon booth for sale or just show? Anyway, I would have liked to have seen more accessory companies there (such as Varizoom) but oh well. The EZFX Jib & Junior Jib as well as the Hollywood Lite Steadicam configurations were awesome; as was the Soderbergh autographed XL-1S at the Canon booth. The Gyoury light kit was also quite sweet and definitely worth a closer look. All in all I would say it was definitely a success. Erik |

I attended too, and also sat in on the GL-2 demo at 1:00. An extremely interesting time, including sampling the EZ FX Jibs for highly useful crane shots!
