The posting about the PD-170 found here a few weeks ago looked pretty much like a hoax....

I agree; don't believe a word of it until it appears on an actual Sony website.

Paul,
No major structural changes has been made. The PD170 has..... Incorporates three 1/3-inch CCDs with 380,000 pixels (effective 340,000 pixels) The 1/3-inch size contributes to the low vertical smear, high sensitivity and signal-to-noise ratio. These CCDs are capable of both interlace scan and progressive scan, which is useful for recording still images or shooting a moving subject Developed high Modulation Transfer Function (MTF) 12x lens with a 58 mm filter diameter allows to achieve high picture quality. Super Steady Shot system in which the horizontal and vertical movements are detected independently by the sensors. The 0.4 type black and white LCD viewfinder provides 500 lines of horizontal resolution - more than 20% greater than current color viewfinders. "wide-tally" button and "rocord" button on the handle bar for convenient low angle opration. ----------------------- debu studio brahmaputra assam |
