Login problem
When I log in and ask it to "remember me" it doesn't, so next time I log in I have to put my password in again. This has only started happening since I changed my password. Any ideas?

Haven't seen this myself - which browser are you using? There is a bug we've discussed before which might be related though. If you access "dvinfo.net" instead of "www.dvinfo.net" it will log you out. Make sure that the URL begins with "www" and see if that makes a difference.

No difference. It's bloody annoying as every time I check new posts I have to sign in again. It was fine before I changed my password from the default one I was sent when I registered to one I could remember.

Does anybody else have this issue? I think it's cookie related.

Are you using google's chrome browser?
I have been having problems with chrome not handling the cookies for DVI correctly. |

Hmm, that could very easily be the culprit... Chrome is one browser I haven't tested with DVi.

Just logged in again to post this! AFAIK I don't have Google Chrome, but it seems all to do with changing my password - it was fine, I changed it and it wasn't fine, immediately.

I had this problem last week on Firefox on Windows XP.
It wouldn't remember that I logged in. But, after clicking on a discussion, then clicking on the DV Info Network link up top, it worked and has since. |

Make sure you aren't using the Private Browsing function of Apple Safari.

Also, I had a similar sort of bother at one point. I deleted my forum cookies (either go looking for the individual files in your settings folders, or just use the "delete all cookies" options via the browser options dialog) and it seemed to help.
It was as if the older cookie was being cached or in some way became corrupted.

me too, but different
I am having problems signing in. I log in, hit enter, then it takes me back to the log in page. so I tried again, and it took my back to the log in page AGAIN.
I tried it on two computers, then pulled out the laptop, which luckily, remembered me on this page, so it didnt ask to sign in....anyone else?? |

When I log in, then the next page that comes up, shows me as NOT logged in.
Then when I refresh the page, it appears I am logged in after all. But after that, when trying to post anything, I get the "you are not logged in" error message. So I have to try several times before I actually succeed posting. I do not think it is cookie related, because this happens regardless of if I clear all cookies before I go to dvinfo or keep cookies from earlier sessions. Tried on several computers, same problems occur. It seems like this might be related with dvinfo.net sometimes being very slow. My computer is using windows vista with IE7, but I have also tried XP/IE6 and with Mac OS X using both Safari and Firefox. No differences. The problems began (at least for me) Monday morning this week. |
