Cable Cam
I am interested in making a fly-cam style cable cam. Using one wire as it would be easier to setup outdoors. Just a few questions (if anyone can answer them)
- What is the best type of cable to use? - Best way to send the video back so that I can view what the camera does - preferably wireless - Best way to control the camera (Canon XL1) - - preferably wireless - found this on the net... http://www.remotei.com/products_elec...amcontrol.html - Best way to control pan/tilt of camera mount? - preferably wireless - and last of all what would be the longest reach that it would be able to be used over? |

Hey Andrew, i'll direct you to a thread i posted with a video clip and some pics of my rig which is the same design as what your after.
http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showthread.php?t=76948 As for the type of cable i used 5mm galvanised steel rope and i got 100 meters of reach with it. To see the footage you need a video sender, you can pay what you like for them ranging from $30 up into the hundreds. You get various remote heads for pan and tilt as long as your willing to pay a lot for them, just do a google search . Hope it helps. Andy.
